Dr Babatunde Adeagbo is a Senior Lecturer at the Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Obafemi Awolowo University in Ile-Ife, Nigeria. He is a WHO/TDR fellow and EDCTP Carreer Development Fellow. Dr Adeagbo is a key member of the Translational Pharmacokinetic, Pharmacogenomics and Pharmacometrics Research group of the Faculty of Pharmacy OAU. and the Therapeutic Drug Monitoring team of the Obafemi Awolowo University teaching hospital. He had opportunities of exposure to some well-established laboratories in and outside Nigeria. This has helped him to garner extensive expertise in biopharmaceutical, pharmacokinetics, pharmacogenetics, Pharmacometrics and lately adjuvant-vaccine development. He have expertise in the use of basic modelling and simulations in the prediction of dosage and adverse reactions with a special focus on the use of antimalarial, anti-infectious and anti-cancer drugs in vulnerable groups like neonates, children, pregnant women and comorbid conditions with a view to optimizing therapy in these groups. He also have keen interest in the pharmacokinetic evaluation of specially designed drug and vaccine formulations for HIV and Tuberculosis patients. He had over 25 peer-reviewed papers to his credit.
